The Heifetz 25-Year Advent CalendarDay 18: 1998: Kalinovsky Plays Paganini!
July 25, 1998: Howard County, MD
We set the dial of the Heifetz Wayback Machine to 1998, to feature a performance by one of the Institute’s longest-serving faculty members: violinist Grigory Kalinovsky, then an aspiring grad student getting his first teaching gig; today a major violin professor at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music. See and Hear Kalinovsky playing Paganini’s rarely-performed Caprice No. 15, and see his name among all the other glitterati coming to join our Heifetz 2022 Faculty!
The July 25, 1998 program is lost to the mists of time, but fortunately, Grigory played the same rarely-heard Paganini Caprice a month earlier in our soon-to-be-home in Annapolis, MD!

Fast Away The Old Year Passes! The Heifetz Institute has been in the business of helping brilliant young talents blossom for 25 years now, the last two of which have required us to work even harder, smarter, and better to pursue our trailblazing mission. As you consider your year-end giving, please consider supporting our mission to enable the world’s most promising young musical talents to realize their artistic and communicative potential.
