Heifetz Hear & Now: Ani Kavafian

The Heifetz Institute presents Hear & Now – a chamber music concert series at Mary Baldwin University’s Francis Auditorium in Staunton, Virginia. This second concert in the series features legendary violinist Ani Kavafian alongside the exceptional young musicians of the Heifetz Ensemble in Residence.

Program to include:

  • Bach: Cello Suite No.4 in E-flat Major, BWV 1010
  • Ernst von Dohnányi: Serenade in C Major, Op. 10
  • Bohuslav Martinů: Viola Rhapsody Concerto
  • Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Violin Sonata No. 21 in E minor, K. 304
  • Joaquín Turina: Violin Sonata No. 2, Op.82 “Sonata Española”
  • Antonín Dvořák: Piano Quintet No. 2 in A Major, Op. 81

Series Pass: $150 includes priority reserved seating and complimentary admission to the Heifetz Holiday Homecoming Concert (December 16 at Francis Auditorium) PURCHASE HERE

Free Admission for MBU Students (must register in advance & present valid student ID at the door)
$5 tickets for all other students (must register in advance & present valid student ID at the door)

ANI KAVAFIAN

Violinist Ani Kavafian enjoys a prolific career as a soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician. She has performed with virtually all of America’s leading orchestras in major venues across the country, has premiered and recorded a number of works written for her, and has been featured on many network and PBS television music specials. Kavafian tours internationally as an artist-member of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and appears frequently in performance with her sister, violinist and violist Ida Kavafian.
