Caprice...in the form of a Waltz...after an Etude...

Welcome to Heifetz 2026!  This summer, as we celebrate three decades of transformative education, extraordinary artistry, and the community that has made Heifetz possible, each day we’ll be sharing audio, video, images, and programs from across the decades of the Institute. Check back each day throughout our 30th Anniversary Season as we share some memorable moments from each golden year of the Institute!

June 28, 2017: Staunton, VA

Our new summer series continues with the dazzling June 28, 2017 Heifetz debut of 19-year-old violinist Sein An, joined by pianist Dina Vainshtein. They play the “Caprice after an Etude in the form of a Waltz” by the Belgian and “King of the Violin,” Eugene Ysaÿe, adapting an etude originall written by French composer Camille Saint-Saëns.
