Esther Lim
Collaborative Piano Faculty
Pianist Esther Lim possesses a wide range of tonal spectrum and a keen sensitivity to bring a performer and music to the highest caliber. She has appeared in three continents both as a soloist and a collaborator at venues such as Carnegie Hall, Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center Masterclasses, Merkin Concert Hall, Bruno Walter Auditorium, Schloss Köthen, Gesellschaftshaus Magdeburg, Teatro Sociale di Novafeltria, and United Nations of South Korea.
Ms. Lim has been invited as piano faculty at Heifetz International Music Institute and served as a collaborative pianist at Sejong International Music festival in Curtis Institute of Music, Charles Castleman String Quartet Program, and La Lingua Della Lirica Festival. Notably, she recently performed as a pianist in the international premiere of the award-winning opera production “Barrier-Free,” sponsored by The Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Houston and the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Beyond the classical realm, Ms. Lim demonstrates her versatility as a collaborator by working with the musical theater department, participating in choreography rehearsals. Additionally, she is a founding member of Muse Ave, a collective group of musicians comprising string players, pianists, and singers based in New York City.
Ms. Lim holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Manhattan School of Music. She currently serves on the faculty of the Conservatory of Music at Purchase College, as well as the staff pianist of The Juilliard School.
