The 2024 Heifetz Holiday Tour
The Heifetz Holiday Tour is kicks off next week! Catch our Heifetz Ensemble in Residence in concerts throughout Virginia, Maryland, and Washington DC. They’ll perform glittering solo works, chamber masterworks, and some special yuletide treats for listeners of all faiths – including the premiere of four new Heifetz commissioned versions of beloved classics by Gershwin, Tchaikovsky, Ravel, and Vaughn Williams.
From the 2018 Heifetz Holiday Tour concert at the Kreeger Museum in Washington DC, NPR’s longtime host Bob Edwards lends his voice to a performance of the “Winter” Concerto from Antonio Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons,” reading the short lines of poetry Vivaldi himself wrote to accompany the movements of the piece, with Danny Yehun Jin, solo violin; Kiarra Saito-Beckman, violin; Nicholas Kitchen , violin; Zhihao Wu, cello; Matt Cohen, viola
