David Geber
About David
A native of Los Angeles, David Geber grew up in a family of professional cellists. A graduate of The Juilliard School, he was founding cellist of the American String Quartet and concertized internationally and recorded with the ensemble for nearly thirty years, including performances in all 50 of the United States. His teaching career spans over forty years at Manhattan School of Music, where he also served as a senior administrator for more than a decade. His many former students have prominent and varied positions in the music field, including symphonic, chamber music, new music, teaching, administrative and advocacy posts. Mr. Geber is Vice President of the Walter W. Naumburg Foundation in New York and is also an artist-representative for Jargar Strings. He plays a rare Ruggieri cello from 1667 made in Cremona.
