Heifetz 2021: Tuition, Fees, & Safety

"players wanted heifetz 2021 the 25th anniversary season"

Health and Safety Protocols for the 2021 Heifetz Summer Institute

In accord with our hosts at Mary Baldwin University, which has very successfully conducted a “Back to Baldwin” in-seat semester, the Heifetz Institute is exploring every option for creating an on-campus experience for successful #Heifetz2021 applicants. Our plans contemplate  a hybrid program for Summer 2021, featuring both in-person and virtual elements to meet the needs of our exceptional students. No matter the format, you can anticipate an immersive and transformative summer music experience in the hallmark Heifetz style, and its 25-year record of leadership and innovation in high-level musical instruction, Communication Training, and multimedia production.

UPDATE (03/15/2021):  The Heifetz International Music Institute plans a phased, safe, and carefully managed return to the in-seat summer experience on the campus of Mary Baldwin University in Staunton, Virginia. While the there have been recent decreases in the number of COVID-19 related cases in the nation and our Shenandoah Valley region, as well as an uptick in vaccinations, the threats of further outbreaks and mutant strains suggest that there will still be significant risks of exposure to and infection from the COVID-19 virus during the summer, with a significant percentage of our student and staff population yet to receive vaccines. Each student will be assigned a private dormitory room which will also serve as their practice facility.  These dates may vary slightly depending on cleaning and quarantine protocols dictated by Mary Baldwin University and the Commonwealth of Virginia.

To provide maximum flexibility and safety to our students, we will offer every accepted student the opportunity to study, learn, and perform online (see below), with an adjustment in tuition and fees. Similarly, we will require every student who opts to join us for an in-person experience to adhere strictly to health & safety requirements dictated by Mary Baldwin University, local jurisdictions, and the Commonwealth of Virginia. Please visit the #HeadBackToHeifetz page for the most up-to-date details.

We are moving forward with the plan of bringing four cohorts of students [arranged by their chamber-group assignments] to campus for in-person learning.
