Heifetz On Air
The Heifetz Institute's New Radio Show

The Heifetz Institute is coming to your radio! We’re delighted to announce a new partnership with WTJU – the radio voice of the University of Virginia – to produce Heifetz On Air, airing Sundays 6 – 7 p.m. on 91.1 FM and streaming at WTJU.net and CharlottesvilleClassical.org.

Heifetz On Air is hosted by veteran public broadcast (and Heifetz President & CEO) Benjamin K. Roe.
Each week, Heifetz On Air will present captivating performances by Heifetz International Music Institute students, alums, and faculty — recorded on stage in Staunton and in WTJU’s Charlottesville studios. The show is hosted by Benjamin K. Roe, president and CEO of Heifetz Institute and longtime veteran of public radio classical programming. “WTJU’s partnership with Heifetz is a tremendous opportunity to share world class classical performances with listeners in Central Virginia and beyond,” said Nathan Moore, WTJU General Manager. “I’ll be honest, each time Heifetz students record at WTJU’s stage, I stop what I’m doing and watch the performance. The music is captivating.”
In the coming months, WTJU will also begin distributing “Heifetz On Air” as a podcast at VirginiaAudio.org and as a syndicated public radio show through PRX.org, the Public Radio Exchange. WTJU 91.1 FM has been part of the University of Virginia since its first broadcast in 1957.
