She was born in Madrid to a family of musicians and started to play the violin at the age of 7. Her musical training began with singing\, when she joined the Madrid Community Choir at the age of 5. She sang in several operas at the Royal Theater of Madrid\, including Tosca\, Boris Godunov and Der Rosenkavalier. At IU she holds the Young Premier Artist Scholarship and the E H Claus Scholarship. She is also the recipient of Madrid’s Community Overseas studies Grant\, and is a member of the Hutton Honors College. Marina is also a Jazz vocalist\, singing a wide range of styles\, including Bossa Nova and salsa\, as the lead singer of Wayne Wallace’s Latin Jazz Ensemble. \n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n					Carlos Martinez\n					Violin \n					\n					\n				\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Heifetz 2020 and 2021 student Carlos Rafael Martínez Arroyo has concertized as a soloist with professional orchestras and recitalist throughout his native Spain as well as Sweden\, the U.S.\, and Mexico. In 2016\, 2017\, and 2018 Carlos was selected as one of the members of “Proyecto Talentos”\, organized by Madrid Symphony Orchestra\, performing as a chamber musician in the Auditorio Nacional. In 2022 he was as a member of the Heifetz Ensemble in Residence alongside Heifetz faculty member Ani Kavafian. Carlos is currently a member of the Voyagers Ensemble in the Hawaii Chamber Music Festival and a member of the Midori & Friends Foundation. He recently obtained his B.M. from the Manhattan School of Music under the tutelage of Pinchas Zukerman and Patinka Kopec\, and continues his Masters Degree studies with Mark Steinberg at the same institution. \n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n					Joe Skerik\n					Viola \n					\n					\n				\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Born in 1999 and raised in Michigan\, Joseph Skerik is the newly-appointed violist of the Vega String Quartet\, where he is an artist and faculty member in residence at Emory University and the Emory Chamber Music Society of Atlanta. Joseph’s 2023 – 24 season includes collaborations with the Juilliard Quartet\, Zuill Bailey and Ransom Wilson\, as well as appearances at the National Gallery in Washington DC. He has studied at the Yale School of Music\, Cleveland Institute of Music\, Paris Conservatory and Interlochen Arts Academy. As a guest artist\, Joseph has given performances at Heifetz Hear and Now Series\, the Highlands-Cashiers Festival\, Lake George Music Festival\, Vivace Music Foundation and Kneisel Hall. Joseph’s summer studies include the Ravinia Institute\, Heifetz Chamber Music Seminar\, Perlman Music Program and the Aspen Music Festival. As a chamber musician he has performed with Ani Kavafian\, Ilya Kaler\, Jaime Laredo\, Colin Carr\, Shmuel Ashkenazi\, Erin Keefe\, Margaret Batjer and Edward Aaron. Joseph is a Young Arts Merit Violist\, a prize-winner at the American Viola Society Competition and the 2022 Oskar Nedbal Viola Competition in Prague. He is the co-founder of Viridian Strings\, a chamber music series in Northwest Lower Michigan. \n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n					Adam Savage\n					Viola \n					\n					\n				\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Stephen “Adam” Savage is a native of Port St. Lucie\, FL who has performed recitals\, chamber music\, and has been a member of prestigious orchestras throughout the US. He has also won numerous local and statewide competitions. Most recently\, Adam has been invited to participate in the ARD International Music Competition and was also named a finalist in The Juilliard School’s Viola Concerto Competition. He was also named a 2021 National YoungArts Foundation Winner. Adam studies at The Juilliard School in the studios of both Toby Appel and Paul Neubauer. Adam has also been accepted into or attended such music festivals as the Music Academy of the West\, The Heifetz Institute’s Chamber Music Seminar Program with Shmuel Ashkenazi\, and National Youth Orchestra of the United States\, among others. Adam has received an associate in arts degree from Indian River State College (dual enrollment) and is a part of the Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society\, National Society of Leadership and Success\, and was previous president of the Medical Laboratory Technology club. He also was nominated by the National YoungArts Foundation and later chosen to become a 2021 U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts. \n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n					Serge Kalinovsky\n					Cello \n					\n					\n				\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Serge Kalinovsky studies cello with Susan Moses in his hometown of Bloomington\, IN\, and is a merit scholarship student at the Music Institute of Chicago Academy. In past summers\, Serge has participated in Pinchas Zukerman’s Young Artists Program\, the Indiana University Summer String Academy\, and the Heifetz International Music Institute. He was a finalist at 2019 International Popper Competition\, 2nd prize winner of the 2020 Association of the Louisville Orchestra Young Artist Competition\, the winner of the 2020 MTNA statewide competition\, First Prize winner of the 2020 Indianapolis Symphony Maurer Young Musicians Contest\, and First Prize winner of the 2021 Philadelphia International Music Festival Competition. In 2022-23\, he was a member of the Peresson Quartet\, an MIC Academy group\, which won the Grand Prize at St. Paul String Quartet Competition and 3rd Prize at Fischoff Competition\, Junior Division in Spring 2022. He’s performed with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra\, participated in inaugural “Food for Music” Benefit Concert in Bloomington\, and also performed in concerts in and around Chicago and Virginia. In his free time\, he enjoys playing chess. \n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n					Mira Kardan\n					Cello \n					\n					\n				\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Seventeen-year old Mira Kardan attends the Colburn School where she studies with acclaimed cellist Clive Greensmith. She is a member of the Colburn Music Academy for gifted young artists\, where she pursues a rigorous curriculum of musical instruction and where she serves as principal cellist of the Colburn Academy Virtuosi chamber orchestra. An avid chamber musician\, Mira performed as a member of the Olive Piano Trio\, coached by Martin Beaver\, Fabio Bidini\, and Clive Greensmith. Her trio won the Gold Medal first prize at the 2022 Fischoff Chamber Music Competition and the First Grand Prize in the 2022 Chicago International Music Competition. The Olive Piano Trio went abroad to Finland in 2023\, participating in an exchange program with the Sibelius Academy. Mira was the 2022 first prize winner of the Bellflower[CA] Symphony Competition and performed as soloist on the closing concert of their season. Mira has won numerous other prizes including first prize laureate in the 2020 Sound Espressivo Competition. Mira has attended the Heifetz International Music Institute\, Meadowmount School of Music and the Indiana Summer String Academy. She lives in Los Angeles with her parents and beloved rescue dog\, Daisy. Mira performs on a Montagnana model Grubaugh & Seifert cello made in 2019\, and a Sylvan Bigot bow.
