About Angela
Violinist Angela Sin Ying Chan attended the Heifetz Institute in both 2015 and 2019. Angela started learning the violin at the age of 3, and joined the Junior Music Program of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. In 2013, Angela was accepted with a full scholarship to the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia where she studies with Heifetz faculty member Shmuel Ashkenasi, Aaron Rosand, and Pamela Frank. Angela has taken part in numerous international violin competitions and some highlights include First Prize and Concerto Performance Award at the 8th International Louise Spohr Competition, Second Prize at the Second Harbin International Competition, and a laureate at the 2019 Michael Hill International Violin Competition. Angela co-founded the AYA Piano Trio with pianist Ying Li and cellist and fellow Heifetz Holiday Tour performer Andres Sanchez. The trio won First Prize at the WDAV Young Chamber Musicians Competition in 2018.

About Andres
2019 Heifetz Institute alum Andres Sanchez is a Honduran-Venezuelan cellist born in Allentown, PA. Andres began his cello studies at the age of 8 under the guidance of Miguel Rojas, principal cellist of the Puerto Rico Symphony, At 10, Andres made his solo debuts with the Midwest Clinic of Chicago, and at 13, he made his Carnegie Hall debut as a member of the Arconet Chamber Orchestra. In 2013, Andres was accepted to the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, where he studies with cellists Peter Wiley and Carter Brey. An avid chamber musician, Andres co-founded the AYA PIano Trio in 2013 with pianist Ying Li and violinist and fellow Heifetz On Tour – mate Angela Chan. The Trio won First Prize at the WDAV (Davidson, NC) Young Chamber Musicians Competition in 2018. Andres has also been a participant in several competitions such as the Fischoff Competition, the M-Prize International Chamber Arts Competition, and the Carlos Prieto International Cello Competition.

About Dina
Boston-based pianist Dina Vainshtein is known for her sensitive and virtuosic collaborations with some of the most promising musicians of recent years. Dina, a longtime Faculty Pianist for the Heifetz Institute, is the daughter of two pianists, and studied with Boris Berlin at the prestigious Gnessin Academy in Moscow. While there she received the Special Prize for the Best Collaborative Pianist at the 1998 Tchaikovsky International Competition. She came to the United States in 2000 to attend the Cleveland Institute of Music. Her talents vaunted her to numerous performing opportunities and tours of Japan, China, Europe and Russia. To this day, Donald Weilerstein regards her as “an extraordinary collaborator. She is an extremely fine musician and one of the most empathetic, dynamic and supportive chamber players I know.” For nearly a decade Dina has been affiliated with the New England Conservatory and the Walnut Hill School in Natick, Massachusetts.
