2022 Festival of Concerts

The Heifetz Festival of Concerts returns for its 26th Anniversary Season in Summer 2022! The diverse and ambitious set of concerts will feature our renowned faculty, special guests, and of course, our world class students—comprised this year of 127 exceptional young string players, ranging in age from 9 to 27 years old, from 16 countries and 24 US states. You can expect a robust schedule of 50+ concerts of vital, compelling music-making in the unique Heifetz style, from the flagship Stars of Tomorrow and the rollicking Heifetz Hootenannies to the masterful Celebrity Series and Chamber Music Sunday Matinees, presented in venues across Staunton and throughout the Shenandoah Valley. Admission is free to ALL EVENTS for children 12 and under – bring the whole family!

Stars of Tomorrow
TUESDAYS & THURSDAYS–7:30 PM

The Institute’s signature series—a showcase for breathtaking performances by extraordinary Heifetz students in collaboration with our acclaimed Heifetz faculty pianists.

Market St. Musicale
FRIDAYS–1:00 PM (FREE)

Continuing the Heifetz tradition of weekday free concerts, our matinee shows feature powerful performances paired with informal conversations with our Heifetz students.

Junior Division Showcase
SATURDAYS–1:00 PM (FREE)

Come be dazzled by the artistry of the Institute’s Junior Division performers, aged 9–15, as they showcase their prodigious talents on the Heifetz stage!

Heifetz Hootenanny
SATURDAYS–7:30 PM

Our informal Saturday series that features one-of-a-kind multi-genre mashups—all outdoors and under the Heifetz tent, and fueled by craft brews and local food artisans.

Chamber Music Sunday Matinee
SUNDAYS–2:00 PM

Afternoons devoted to masterworks of the chamber music repertoire, with pride of place going to the students enrolled in the Heifetz Chamber Music Seminar.

Celebrity Series
FRIDAYS–6:00 PM

Experience the world-renowned artistry of our virtuosic Heifetz Institute faculty members in these carefully conceived programs showcasing top performers in the concert music world.

HEALTH & SAFETY MEASURES
Your safety is paramount to us, and so we ask you to observe the following regulations - please click here for a full breakdown of our updated protocols:

WHAT YOU NEED WHEN ATTENDING A HEIFETZ CONCERT OR EVENT:

  1. PROOF OF VACCINATION AND YOUR PHOTO IDUnder the guidance of our medical partners, and in order to provide the safest experience possible for patrons and staff, the Heifetz Institute will require audiences to provide proof of full vaccination, paired with a valid photo ID, to attend concerts. If you are unable to be vaccinated due to a sincerely held religious belief, a medical condition, or because you are under age 5—we will accept proof of a negative NAAT or PCR COVID test (taken no more than 72 hours prior to your attendance), paired with valid photo ID.
  2. YOUR FAVORITE MASK - The Heifetz Institute is practicing universal masking for all patrons, staff, and volunteers—regardless of vaccination status. These steps, recommended by our medical advisors, provide the best layers of protection.
  3. A SELF SYMPTOM CHECK - We ask that patrons do a symptom check. If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, please do not attend a performance. If you cannot attend a performance due to illness, we are offering a flexible rescheduling and refund policy.
